Description

Do you want to have an amazing experience in one of the top ski resorts in Japan? Then join me for this backcountry skiing day in Niseko.

Lying on the Japanese island of Hokkaido, Niseko is one of the country's most famous winter destinations. It's well known for its great powder snow and for offering attractive options for the adventurers who want to ski off the beaten tracks.

As a local mountain guide, I'll take you to backcountry lines that I've been using for a long time.

During this journey, we'll be skiing around the area of Mount Iwao, Mount Nito and Mount Chise, among other peaks. We'll take hiking trails to the summit of those mountains and enjoy the feeling of getting there on our own. And then, of course, we'll have an exciting experience skiing down!

If you´ve got touring experience, you can use skins. If you don´t, you can always hike up or use snowshoes instead.

As for the technical equipment, I recommend you to have a shovel, a beacon and a probe, as well as an adequate backpack and ski poles. In case you don't have the necessary gear, you can rent it from our store.

In case I am unavailable to guide, my colleagues with Niseko Winter Guide qualification and a member of Japanese Red Cross Society Emergency Personnel in my guide company will be able to guide you.

Below, you'll find further details about the itinerary. The Guide Fee below is for Group Tours. Please check out the private program if you prefer that option.

Please contact me if you want more information about next departures for backcountry skiing in Niseko. We can arrange a private program or a group tour up to 5 people. When contacting me, please tell me whether you're interested in a private tour or joining a group tour.

I will be glad to show you the best spots of this beautiful region of my country!

Don't forget to check Lift Accessed Sidecountry skiing in Niseko if you are not so keen on hiking up mountains by yourself, or check the Ski Mt Yotei programme if you're an experienced backcountry skier willing to challenge this route.
