Description

A region of stunning rugged beauty, Cape Breton Island is located on the Atlantic coast of Canada in the province of Nova Scotia.

The Cabot trail is world renowned for its wild beauty – including one of the largest salt water lakes in the world Bras D’or – and the hospitality of its local inhabitants.

The Cape Breton Highlands National Park offers truly spectacular views that quickly explain the region’s popularity. One can take to the Cabot trail by car but hiking this natural gem is a lot more rewarding and immersive.

Offering you some of the most stunning views in Nova Scotia, you’ll visit waterfalls, rivers and coves. There will be ample lookout sites that cast your gaze upon cliffs, fishing communities and a unique coastline.

As part of the hike you will visit the famous Skyline trail and walk next to the ocean. This abundant landscape contains a plethora of nature flora and fauna and you could see moose, eagles or whales.

When you visit the fishing village of Cheticamp you will discover the French Acadian traditions, a unique dialect and branch of old french culture.

You will learn about the Gaelic cultures of the region and also take part in a First Nations hands-on tour involving dancing and a clensing smudge ceremony.

You will finish your tour in Baddeck on the northern shores of Bras D’or salt lake. Here you can learn about former local Alexander Graham Bell, who invented the telephone and did much important work for the deaf.

If you would like to spend 6 days in spectacular natural beauty, learn about the region and its history and enjoy the company of experienced mountain guides then sign up now and we’ll be waiting to show you the sites!

If this trip has you excited but you want to be on the other side of Canada then consider this week long hiking trip on the Chilkoot trail in the gorgeous wilds of the Yukon, British colombia. Or this 5-day hike around the Bay of Fundy and witness the highest tides in the world!

Guide cancelled within 48 hrs and I was unable to find someone else and so far I’ve not been refunded. Put a small dent in my otherwise great trip to Revelstoke.

Guide was very experienced and very patient with us. We learned alot and he tried to fit in all the knowledge he could in one day, super awesome. A little tough going back and forth to get the trip set up hard to tell if the site is sketchy until you see reviews but all worked out. Ended up with an awesome day with an awesome guide. Overall pretty satisfied and thankful!
