I invite you to discover imposing volcanoes, magical forests, paradisiac beaches and star-filled skies on this 9-day hiking tour in La Palma. Join me and discover one of the spectacular Canary Islands!
Located in the Atlantic Ocean and 100 km west of Morocco, these seven main islands have become a major tourist destination and a natural paradise for hikers and nature lovers from all over the world.
La Palma is the fifth largest of the seven main Canary Islands and is known as the beautiful one. It is home to a complete network of marked paths that cross the entire island, making it a paradise for trekking lovers. Furthermore, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002 and has earned a Starlight award due to its clear skies and light pollution.
On this 9-day hiking tour, we’ll get lost in its several amazing routes, and discover the magical charm of the Island. Regarding our accommodation, we’ll sleep in the different locations we find along the way. For a more detailed description of the trip, take a look at the itinerary below!

Itinerary
Day 1: Flight from Bilbao or Madrid to La Palma
Flight from Bilbao or Madrid to La Palma.
Accommodation at Hotel Taburiente.
Day 2: Crossing of the Crestas de Taburiente: Los Andenes - Cresta Taburiente - Reventón - Camino Real de las vueltas.
Magnificent tour of the Crestas de Taburiente, with views over the Caldera. The last hour of the trip we’ll descend by the old Camino Real that connected the east coast with the west.
Accommodation at Hotel Taburiente.
Day 3: The Volcanoes route - El Pilar - Fuencaliente
This route is the geographical continuation of the previous one. We’ll cross a volcanic region with craters, lava flows and Pinus Canariensis.
Accommodation at Fuencaliente, Los Canarios.
Day 4: The Last Volcanoes
We’ll walk along the southern tip of the island between new volcanoes such as the Teneguía Volcano that emerged in 1971.

Day 5: Caldera de Taburiente by Los Brecitos and Transfer to Todoque
We’ll enter the Caldera de Taburiente by a path on its western slope, continuing through the interior of Barranco de Las Angustias.
Accommodation in Todoque Rural House or Apartment in Tazacorte.
Day 6: Roque de los Muchachos 2,421 - Beach of Tazacorte
Transfer of Todoque to Roque de los Muchachos and descent along the ridge to the beach of Todoque; very long and beautiful journey downhill facing the Atlantic.
Accommodation at Todoque Rural House or Apartment in Tazacorte.
Day 7: Transfer to Barlovento through Garafia and El Tablado Tour - French
Travel by Garafía (north of La Palma) and explore the beautiful coastal path between 2 small towns: discovery of the Drago, a legendary Canarian tree.

Day 8: Los Tiles - Nacientes de Marcos y Cordero - Casa del Monte.
The los Tiles forest, the Barranco del Agua and the Nacientes de Marcos y Cordero form an extraordinary set of Laurisilva forest, declared a Biosphere Reserve.

Day 9: Barlovento - Santa Cruz - Madrid - Bilbao
