Are you looking to complement your traditional Barcelona experience? This 1-day hiking program will take you to the beautiful Priorat region. Join me for a tour wtih wonderful landscapes and fine red wine lands.

One of the highest points of the tour will be the hike up to the top mountain in the Natural Park of Montsant. This program is also filled with history and cultural elements, like the Escala Dei Monastery.

To begin this program, I will pick you up at the reception of your hotel or accommodation in Barcelona at 9 am. Later, we will transfer to the starting point of our hike.

Some highlights of this tour are:

A hike from Siruna to Siranella, in the heart of Priorat
The view from the top of the balcony of Priorat
The exploration of the land of Grenache, traditional grape variety

There are three different routes to choose from on this program, depending on your fitness level and goals:

ROUTE 1 (Levels 1 & 2): Open to everybody! Includes fantastic view from Serra Major del Montsant. Total hiking time: 2 hours
ROUTE 2 (Level 3 & 4:) For sport lovers – Includes reaching the top of Montsant across impressive cliffs. Total hiking time: 5 hours
ROUTE 3 (Level 5): Performance oriented – Consists of long distance hiking from Cornudella de Montsant to Escala Dei. Total hiking time: 7 hours

I was a bit hesitate to book with explore-share as I have never heard of it and am a women traveling alone looking for a hike to do in another country. I am elated I booked with Pere on a full day hike in the Pyreneess. Pere was very nice, funny and professional- he had lots of info on history, culture and of course everything mountainside. He brought snacks and bought coffee which was unexpected but very appreciated- he provided transportation & had lots of extra gear too! He was very good at judging my skill level and pushed me just enough as far as pacing and trail difficulty. I am so lucky to have chosen Pere as a guide! Internally it was a physically and mentally challenging hike; I would not of made it to the top if I was alone. If anyone is hesitating on which guide to pick I would say to look no further and go with Pere. It was the highlight of my trip to Barcelona and will remember it for years to come when looking for extra motivation & momentum on my next hikes.

We had a fabulous and unforgettable hike in the Pyrenees with Pere. He is a very knowledgable, safety conscious and experienced guide. He had water, snacks, and gear for us and took some really great pictures during the day which he shared with us. We also made a short stop before our hike for coffee and a snack as he went over the hike we would be taking and showed us a map of the trail and area, which was really nice for orienting us. This is a hike not to be missed, and I would highly recommend going with Explore-Share and not on your own unless you are very familiar with the trails and area.

Pere was amazing!! He was so kind and so much fun! We had the best hike with him through the Pyrenees. It was absolutely beautiful, and we loved being able to hike through the snow and getting to see the snow-capped mountains. It was INCREDIBLE.
