Well-known mountain, the highest peak in Europe, one of the Seven Summits, Mount Elbrus is located in Western Caucasus near to the border with Georgia.
In spite of the easy route to the summit, Mount Elbrus can be artful. Because of its altitude and location (close to the sea), a storm can start unexpectedly. That’s why an experienced and certified mountain guide is absolutely a must.
Going there with me you will not need to worry about organising your trip. Leave it to a professional!
Please find below the program I usually propose:
Arrival to Mineralnye Vody airport. Then transfer to Terskol village and overnight in a hotel.
Acclimatisation hike until the top of Mount Cheget (3770 m).
Short transfer to ski-lift in Azau Medow. Reaching 3700 m by cable car and check-in at the mountain hut. Then walking around for better acclimatisation.
Acclimatisation ascent until 4700 m. Then back down to the hut and preparing for the ascent day.
Ascent day!! It takes 8-9 hours to reach the top of Europe, then descent to the hut. Optionally we can use a snow cat to reach 4900 m and so save power and time.
Descent to the hotel of Terskol. Rest day.
Transfer to Mineralnye Vody airport, then flight back home.
For more information fell free to contact me. I have my own service on the Mt Elbrus, that lets me use flexible and convenient prices. it’s also possible to add extra days in case of bad weather or for better acclimatisation.
Or another legend of the Caucasus that we can climb together is Mount Ushba!
