Description

Welcome to this mini trek in Cordillera Huayhuash! I will guide you through the best Andean corners during 4 days.

The Cordillera Huayhuash has been considered the second most beautiful trekking experience in the world, after the Annapurna trek in Nepal.

Although it is a demanding trail, the views during the hike are really breathtaking. You won’t believe such a landscape, full of turquoise lakes, high snow-capped peaks and wide grasslands.

I can take with me a maximum of 5 guests. However, if you are a larger group I can ask a colleague to join us. That way I can offer you a fun and safe experience.

As for the technical level, this trek is suitable for experienced hikers. In addition, all participants must have an excellent physical condition as we have to reach up to 5000 meters in height on foot.

If you want to know more details about the itinerary of this mini trek in Cordillera Huayhuash, please find it at the end of this page.

Available dates from May to September. If you want to join me feel free to contact me. I will be happy to lead you through this amazing Andean trail.

After having breakfast in the Llamac village, the gateway to the Cordillera Huayhuash, we will meet our donkeys and donkey drivers. From here we will start with our trek towards the Quebrada Rondoy, walking along the Rio Llamac. Once we are close to the entrance of the Rondoy Valley, the valley opens and we start to have the first views of the snow- capped peaks of Rondoy and Ninashanca. Our day ends in the Rondoy campsite, where we’ll spend the first night.

Day 2: Sanbunya Pass (4750m) - Lake Jahuacocha (4050m)

Today we will leave the Rondoy Valley towards the Punta Sambunya Pass and from there we will descend until we get to our camp in Jahuacocha.

Day 3: Jahuacocha - Yaucha Pass (4847m) – Ancoshcancha (4550m)

After breakfast we will walk towards the Punta Yaucha Pass, where we will enjoy the spectacular view of the Yerupaja (the second highest mountain in the Peruvian Andes). Then, we will descend to the Ancoscancha camping spot, where we’ll spend the night in tents.

Day 4: Pampa Llamac (4270m) - Llamac - Huaraz

After completing our Andean circuit successfully, we will leave early in the morning in direction to the bridge crossing the river. We ascend to the Pampa Llamac at 4200m, where we will rest a while and take some panoramic photos. Finally, we will go down into the Llamac Village, where our transfer will be waiting. Mountain Guide

IFMGA/UIAGM guide from Perú.

I was born in the Huaraz city, which is located between cordillera blanca & cordillera negra neighbor of huayhuash mountain range.

My passion for the mountain was born since I was a child, because I watched my father going to the mountain. When I was 13 years old I started going on treks with my father and clients, and as soon as I finished my high school I applied to the high school mountain center studies (CEAM) in 2001 and I graduated as an official mountain guide in 2005.

I have a wide guiding experience in trekking and climbing, organizing, trekking and climbing expeditions into cordillera Blanca & huayhuash in the Peruvian mountains.

I guided successfully in Mexico, Argentina where I climbed conquering the mount Aconcagua at (6959 m).

In Peru I have climbed the most beautiful mountain in the world mount "Alpamayo", and the Peruvian highest peak "mount Huascaran south peak". In 2005 I made a speed record climbing mounts "Alpamayo" & "Quitaraju" in 32 hours 16 minutes. I also opened some new routes to climbing in cordillera Blanca.

Aside from the AGMP / IFMGA certification, I also have the WFR certification.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
