Xavi, a local and expert mountain guide, would love the opportunity to guide you to the summit of the secondary peak of Pedraforca, El Calderer. Stand at the top, and enjoy dazzling views of Catalonia.
Reach Pedraforca’s secondary peak with an expert guide.
Challenge yourself on this steep, yet not as complicated ascent.
Enjoy the most hypnotizing views of the Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park.
The Generalitat de Catalunya declared Pedraforca a Natural Site of National Interest. The nearest towns are Slades and Gósol. And it marks the boundary for these municipalities, as well as the provinces of Lleida and Barcelona.
The peculiar shape of this magnificent peak consists in two ridges, the pollegons. The Enforcadura, a neck, connects these two parallel ridges. The superior one, receives the name of Pollegó Superior. And rises at 2,506 meters. Then, the ridge below, Pollegó Inferior stands at 2,444 meters. But, it is El Calderer, a secondary peak in this incredible mountain, that stands out for its beauty. Also, while most climbers attempt the main summit, not as many approach El Calderer. Therefore, we’ll get the sensation that the whole mountain is just for ourselves!
Our itinerary will begin at the Mirador de Gresolet. Thereon, we’ll take the main path to the refuge. Upon arrival, we’ll head to the secondary summit. The ascent will not be difficult, however it is quite steep. But the views we’ll enjoy from the top will be an amazing reward for our effort.
El Calderer is an ascent a little bit harder than the main ridge here. Also it is much wilder and it offers the most breathtaking views of the area. Would you like to climb it? Just send me a request at let me guide you to its summit.

Xavi was a great guide. We had fun climbing with him. Montserrat was beautiful. He also connected us with climbing guides in Majorca
I had a lot of fun on my first outdoor rock climb. Thank you! Next time I\'m in town again, I\'ll be sure to book another climbing outing.
Very nice experience. Xavier is friendly, calm patient and v. Skilful
Xavi was a great guide. He was flexible with our needs and took us out for some great rock climbing! We would definitely recommend him and this trip to anyone interested in climbing while visiting Barcelona.
Xavi was very accommodating and friendly. It had rained the night before, but he gave us alternative options and we really enjoyed our multi-pitch experience. Thanks Xavi!!
Xavi its a very simpatic and attention guy, with a great talking and explaining everything about Montserrat and climbing tips near tô Barcelona. The experience it couldnt be better. I really apreciate.
Xavi was wonderful. My daughter and I had a great climb. Early in our hike, while I was enjoying Xavi, I wondered if we really needed him. Then it became clear that it is easy to lose your way on Pedraforca and many do. It was much more enjoyable to have him with us and not have to worry about directions! We had some great conversations and learned a lot about Catalonia as well. Pedraforca itself is legendary, not because it is difficult but because it is so beautiful and unique.
Great Guide and trekking!
