**During this 2-day guided climbing trip, you will have the opportunity to explore Catalonia’s incredible landscape while honing your climbing technique.  This is a special opportunity to practice both trad and sport climbing on two of the region’s most iconic spots.**

This program takes us to two of Catalonia’s best climbing spots: Pedraforca and Montserrat.  Pedraforca is a uniquely shaped peak that towers above the surrounding landscape, as it is not connected to any other mountains.  Montserrat is a cluster of jagged mountains that brings to mind the blade of a saw. Both are famous climbing destinations close to Barcelona, and both feature numerous walls with routes that appeal to climbers of all levels.

We will meet the morning of Day 1 and head to Montserrat, where we will have the chance to sport climb the multipitch needles.  Then, we will head by car to Refugi Lluís Estasen, where we will spend the night. After a refreshing night’s sleep, we wake up and spend the day climbing Pedraforca, where we have the opportunity to work on our trad climbing technique.  After a second day of climbing, we will head back to Barcelona.

While you need to have a moderate fitness level in order to enjoy climbing for two consecutive days, this program can be adapted for all levels of climbers, from beginner to advanced.  I will guide you up the routes that best suit your ability.

**The beautiful Pedraforca mountain is located only 2 hours away from Barcelona. If you are in the area and you enjoy rock climbing, this is the adventure for you!**

I invite you to an unforgettable rock climbing day in this emblematic Catalonian mountain. Its two-peaks shape, reminding of a fork, can be divided into two walls. They are Pollego Inferior and Pollego Superior. The walls are composed of great limestone.

This destination is ideal to practice multi-pitch rock climbing. The routes in the mountain can have varying degrees of difficulty, so feel free to ask me for more information. I will be glad to adapt the program to your level.

**If you are in the area of Barcelona and want to leave the city to be in contact with nature, you cannot miss this program! I organize rock climbing trips in Montserrat, only 1 hour away from the vibrant city.** 

Montserrat is a famous massif located in central Catalonia. It is shaped like a large saw, which is where its name comes from in Catalan. It is composed of many summits with a rounded shape. The walls are very steep and there are no sharp edges.

There are many climbing options in this massif. Indeed, there are 12 main climbing ranges. In each of them the opportunities for multi-pitch rock climbing are vast, and there is overall something for every level. The North face of Montserrat has the largest concentration of impressive walls. It is ideal for intermediate/advanced multi-pitch rock climbing.

It can also be a good chance to see the renown Montserrat monastery. And being so close to Barcelona, this destination is convenient in every sense!

**Join me for a fantastic hiking adventure in one of the most emblematic mountains in Catalonia! We will go to Pedraforca, which means “snote pitchfork” in Catalan.** 

Pedraforca’s name comes from the fact that it has 2 mains peaks. There are different hiking options in the mountain, so there are options for hikers of different levels. This is a beautiful vertical playground ideal to enjoy a day not far from Barcelona.

In fact, it is only 2 hours away from Barcelona. But in that short time, you will notice the big difference between the city and the mountain environment! The noises and crowds are left behind as we face the rocky terrain with amazing views. Furthermore, there are beautiful forests, and the natural setting in general is stunning.

We will reach the summit through the best route adapted to your level. The most popular one is the normal route (particularly during the summer) as it is rather easy but varied: we traverse a forest, ascend to a pass, do some easy and short rock climbing…

The hike to the summit takes a full day, between 6 and 8 hours.

Berga is a small city, capital of the Bergueda county, just 1h30′ from Barcelona, in **Catalonia**. It offers lots of **great options for sport climbing**, together with sunny weather and beautiful landscapes.

This rock climbing day is an opportunity to discover this very peaceful place, enjoying a great climb in **good limestone, at the foothills of the Pyrenees.** The Bergada county is a region of lush valleys and pretty traditional villages.

Berga has something for everyone, with a variety of good options for all levels, from beginners to experienced climbers. So, whether you want to venture yourself into rock climbing or you already have some experience and you want to explore a new venue, I **will guide you up the routes that best suit your ability.**

We will meet in Berga and we will decide the best spot for your climb, depending on your wishes and experience. We will spend a great day out on the rocks, **climbing untill you get tired**, with no hurry, just enjoying good limestone climbing.

Montserrat is **an isolated mountain massif  of towering rock formations** and jagged peaks near Barcelona, in the Catalan Pre-Coastal range. It is Spain’s largest climbing area and the cradle of **rock climbing in Catalonia** , boasting thousands of great sport climbing routes for all levels.

I invite you to discover Montserrat with a unique sport climbing experience. You can j**oin me for 1 or more days** and explore the routes of Gorros, Sant Benet and/or Cavall Bernat, some of the best crags in the mountain.

This imposing rocky massif is composed of excellent cobblestone conglomerate, very solid rock with several sinker pockets and protruding knobs. It offers many different types of rock formations to climb, from needles and big walls to many sport climbing crags.

**Cavall Bernat** is the most iconic peak in Montserrat, **an impressive freestanding spire** in the north side of the massif. It offers spectacular views and great exposure, with several routes ranging from **relatively moderate (5b) to hard (8a+)**, and from 3 to 7 pitches long.

While any crag in Montserrat is great, climbing the unique and popular **Gorros** rocks is otherworldy.  The Gorros -or _Hats_– crag is situated on the highest tier of Montserrat. It has a spire-like appearance and it offers great views over the stunning landscape and the ancient Montserrat Monastery below. They offer **clean and long routes** at modest grades.

**Sant Benet** is the other area accessed from the monastery. It has a **wide range of routes**, from quite easy slabby outings to tough big wall climbing.

#### **Pedraforca** is a mesmerizing mountain in the **Cadí-Moixeró Natural Park**. This majestic peak lies in the **comarca de Berguedá**. Due to its rare form, and the fact that it stands alone, not visibly connected with other ridges or peaks, it is one of the **most emblematic** peaks in **Catalonia**. So, don’t hesitate and join us on this day hike to its secondary peak: **El Calderer**.

The **Generalitat de Catalunya** declared **Pedraforca** a **Natural Site of National Interest**. The nearest towns are **Slades** and **Gósol**. And it marks the boundary for these municipalities, as well as the provinces of **Lleida** and **Barcelona**.

The peculiar shape of this magnificent peak consists in two ridges, the pollegons. The **Enforcadura**, a neck, connects these two parallel ridges. The superior one, receives the name of **Pollegó Superior**. And rises at **2,506 meters**. Then, the ridge below, **Pollegó Inferior** stands at **2,444 meters**. But, it is **El Calderer**, a secondary peak in this incredible mountain, that stands out for its beauty. Also, while most climbers attempt the **main summit**, not as many approach **El Calderer**. Therefore, we’ll get the sensation that the whole mountain is just for ourselves!

Our itinerary will begin at the **Mirador de Gresolet**. Thereon, we’ll take the main path to the refuge. Upon arrival, we’ll head to the secondary summit. **The ascent will not be difficult**, however it is **quite steep**. But the views we’ll enjoy from the top will be an amazing reward for our effort.

**El Calderer is an ascent a little bit harder than the main ridge here. Also it is much wilder and it offers the most breathtaking views of the area. Would you like to climb it? Just send me a request at let me guide you to its summit**.
