Located on the Kapuzinerberg, a hill just south of downtown Salzburg, the City Wall via ferrata is the perfect activity for visitors to this lovely city!
Complete with four routes rated at three different levels of difficulty, there is something for everyone to try here!
After meeting up, we will head to the end of Linzer Gasse and strap ourselves onto the iron path.
Regardless of the route we choose to take, incredible views out over Salzburg’s picturesque downtown await us. The views from the top are even better.
For first time via ferrata climbers, I recommend the Aqua Salza Route, which is a good way to get used to climbing on the via ferrata and handling the equipment.
For beginners with previous experience, the Bergspezl route takes you up a steady ascent of rock and steep grassy hill, mostly climbing over A and B-rated terrain.
For more experienced climbers, the Salewa Route and Kapuziner-Gams Route are both a bit more sporty and involved. They are perfect for those looking for a challenge with a view.
The Salewa Route involves various climbing rated up to a C-level, while the more challenging Kapuziner-Gams route involves some fairly ambitious D and E-rated climbing.
Once the climb, which takes about two hours, is over, you will be able to head right back into the downtown and enjoy a meal or drink at Salzburg’s various cafes, bars and restaurants.
So what are you waiting for? Book now for this fun and unique via ferrata experience climbing the City Wall in Salzburg!

Mountain Guide
Growing up in Salzburg's Lungau, Austria, my enthusiasm for the mountains has been rooted in me since childhood.
In winter, I passionately lead my guests on ski tours or show them the best runs while skiing off-piste. In later season I’m guiding in Norway (Lyngen/Senja). And another great passion is ice climbing on frozen waterfalls.
In summer I like to be out and about on rocks and ice in my local mountains but also abroad.
I look forward to go on tour together with you!

Klaus was a phenomenal guide. He was very experienced, extremely friendly and was an excellent teacher for multi-pitch rock climbing. He was able to push me through my mental limits without pressure and while always having our safety in mind and taught me everything I needed to know for my own multi-pitch adventures. In summary, Klaus was a phenomenal guide all around and I would recommend him to all my friends and family without a second thought! Thank you Klaus for your expert guidance and for giving me a once in a lifetime experience!

The whole experience was hard work seriously hard work. I had trained for months, but the pace we moved at, I did struggle at times and made mistakes. The weather will determine the pace you move because its your Guides job to help get you up and down safely, so be prepared. The Altitude did have an affect as well. Klau our guide was professional and did a marvellous job getting us up and down.
