Highlights

Welcome to my new trip to the Arlberg region where you will have more that you can ski.

The Arlberg is a mountain that reaches between Vorarlberg and Tyrol villages, in Austria. Many believe that the name derives from the tradition of the ¨Arlenburg¨, who established themselves on the Tyrolean side.

This trip is a new addition to my off piste ski weeks programs. There are few places in the Alps with such vast and varied terrain as the Arlberg region of Lech. An amazing lift infrastructure ensures that you will always have time and space enough to ski all you want.

Destination and timing are the most important items to consider when you are coming to a skiing or off-piste adventure. They make the difference between a good and a fantastic day and are certainly crucial in having a safe day out.

The exact places we will ski depend entirely on the level of the group and the snow and weather conditions. We usually decide on the venue(s) the same morning of the departure. Basically this is to maximize your time on the hills.

I recommend this adventure for expert skiers with some previous backcountry, off-piste or freeride skiing experience. In addition, you must have very good physical condition.

To conclude, the highlights of our trip will be the following:

    • Skiing the famous “White Ring”
    • Skiing one of the largest linked resort areas in Europe
    • A massive day ski safari to Rendl and back again
    • Skiing the back of the Valunga tram
    • The traditional celebration evening dinner. Prizes will be awarded to guests for “special categories”.

If you think you are prepared for this fabulous adventure please contact me and join me now! It is your opportunity to ski the wildest corners of the Arlberg region!

Please note that this is a private program. Unfortunately, for the time being, I don’t have any group departures planned.

    About the Guide

    IFMGA/UIAGM Mountain Guide

I am a professional mountain & ski guide. I have been guiding now since 1994. I have always been into the mountains – skiing at age 4 and secretly sneaking away for overnight bivouacs in the mountains behind my parents house. At age 13, I decided to pursue my airy scrambles for something that looked a bit more fun. I went to work as an assistant bringing out other young teenagers on exciting hiking and more importantly to me, climbing outings. One thing led to another and before I knew it my world revolved around the mountains.

At the age of 18 I moved to France to pursue my passions, later becoming actively involved with the French Alpine Club in Dijon and organizing outings and putting up climbing routes here and there in Burgundy.

In 1992, I entered the infamous ENSA or French guides school in Chamonix and became the first American to receive international certification (UIAGM/IFMGA) through this prestigious school.

Since then I have been making my living as a full time professional guide, climbing and skiing in many of the worlds great mountain ranges. I speak fluent French, some Italian and I am now learning German.

Previously I have worked as a technical consultant for Petzl, and Grivel.

If you are looking for a great adventure, skiing or climbing, please get in touch with and let's discuss about it.
