Description

Are you looking for the perfect place for a heliboard tour in Europe? Then come join me on this guided trip in Arolla or Verbier.

Verbier is located in the southwest of Switzerland. It’s one of the major ski areas in the Swiss Alps and known as one of the best backcountry areas in the world. A few kilometers southeast is Arolla, another small ski resort village with a spectacular scenery.

And the terrain that surrounds both these villages is one of the favourites for snowboarders due to the steady and steep gradient which allows long powder runs.

My plan is to  meet with you early in the morning and take you up for 2 drops in this beautiful area. There are many options to choose from. The usual itinerary will take us to Pigne d’Arolla and Rosablanche, returning through the 4 Vallées. But there are many other slopes we can go too.

Heliboarding there with an IFMGA mountain guide is compulsory.

I usually take my client to 2 heli drops (Pigne d’Arolla + Rosablanche), leaving either from Verbier either from Arolla.

So don’t hesitate and send me a request to book this Guided heliboarding  trip leaving from Arolla or Verbier and dropping in the best backcountry terrain in Switzerland. I welcome skiers also!

And if you’re looking for other Heliboarding options, please take a look at my Petit Combin heliboarding day, Valais and my Trient Glacier guided heliboarding day.

Mountain Guide

I have been the owner of the mountain guide office since 2004. My father was a mountain guide and I grew up in the Val d’ Hérens. I live now for many years in Verbier. I graduated from the l'école hôtelière de Lausanne in 1993 and then began my mountain guide training. Well travelled I have guided through the mountains of the Andes, the Himalayas, Alaska, Turkey and Greenland. I'm also a Swiss Snow Sports graduate and a dual paragliding pilot.

Gilbert was great company and found a really cool location despite difficult conditions off piste

Olivier our guide was excellent and we would use him again. Unfortunately, we didn't do any Backcountry skiing due to the poor and dangerous conditions. I think Explore-Share should have been more proactive in keeping us informed of the conditions and the fact that it didn't allow for backcountry skiing; we forfeited a day with our guide given the conditions were so bad and the only option was to ski on piste. Further, I would have expected Explore-Share to advise us of the extra cost of the avalanche gear (an extra 600 francs) in advance.
