Description

Discover the stunning Utrecht, in the Netherlands on a fun biking tour. Over the course of 4 hours, we’ll cover 45 beautiful kilometers of windmills, castles, trenches, rivers and other incredible sights. Follow us on this incredible trip to explore this Dutch city in the best possible way.

We’ll begin our tour in the historic heart of Utrecht and bike along the Oude Gracht (or Old Canal). This canal connects the rivers of Kromme Rijn and Vecht, and offers plenty of charming cafes and restaurants to enjoy. We’ll then follow the New Hollandic Waterline, the 19th century Dutch line of defense. You can still admire forts and bunkers that remain from that time. Along the way, we’ll see two windmills (Westbroekse molen and Buitenwegse Molen) and two forts (Fort aan de Klop and Fort Blauwkapel).

Our tour continues following the Vecht river and enjoying the Zuylen Castle and the De Trouwe Waghter windmill. We’ll also be able to go by the lakes, marshes and wetlands at De Tienhovense plassen, the quaint village of Lage Vuursche and the cattle farm of Boerderij Eyckenstein.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
