Description
El Choco National Park is Dominican Republic’s newest national park with 77 square kilometers of jungle, lagoon, caves, forest and local flora and fauna. It is located close to Cabarete, but you’ll feel you are hundreds of kilometers away from the busy downtown. Follow us for a spectacular morning hike in this beautiful park.
The hike we’ll follow is an easy one. We especially recommend it to families where kids can learn about the local flora and fauna and some examples of what can be done to protect natural areas and replant important tree species. It is also a great hike to improve your Spanish by learning the local names of the different species. As a bonus, we’ll get to visit El Choco limestone caves. Legend has it they’ve been around for 5 million years! You can also swim in the stunning lagoon.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
