Pico Duarte (3,087m), 3-day Hike in the José Armando Bermúdez National Park

While this is not a super technical hike, participants require a good fitness level. Also, please note this is a private trip. Therefore, you’ll not have to share this fantastic trip with unknown guests. 

During our first day’s hike, we can visit places like the La Cienega de Manabo, a swap you cannot miss exploring. Then, we’ll also reach the Los Tablones River, a natural border of the park. Later on, we’ll get to admire the local flora that includes iris flowers, myrtle, west indies laurel cherry amongst other beautiful plants. Finally, we’ll arrive at La Cotorra, which means Parrots in spanish. Thus, it is the best place to watch these curious birds.

After a good night sleep and recovering our energies, we’ll begin hiking through the La Cienega Valley. Thereon, we’ll reach the La Laguna, a dazzling lagoon that offers breathtaking sceneries. Plus, during this day we’ll get to discover other unique species in this natural paradise. Thereupon, we’ll reach the El Cruce, crossing a hypnotizing trail which climbs steeply towards the summit of Pico Duarte. Later, we’ll also visit Aguita Fria and La Compartición, for the final stretch right before we get some rest. To end our day, we can either stay at a cabin or camp under a dazzling bed of stars.

Finally, on our last day we will have the opportunity to stand at the summit of Pico Duarte. From here, we’ll get the best views of the area.
