Description

Situated about 75 kilometers (46 miles) northwest of Kathmandu, the Helambu region is one of the most beautiful and unique in all of Nepal! Heading out on the Helambu trek is the perfect way to see it.

Over the course of 11 days, we will strike out into the wilderness of the Nepalese Himalayas, enjoying plenty of great views of the stunning scenery and getting the chance to climb a mountain peak as well as visit traditional villages along the way.

The adventure begins shortly after you arrive in Kathmandu and we transfer to Sundarijal. From here, we begin hiking through thick oak and rhododendron forests past the Shivpuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve.

As we continue making our way into the more remote foothills of the region, we will come across several traditional Sherpa villages, where we will have the chance to meet local people and explore a bit of their culture, including visiting ancient monasteries.

The climax of the trip will be our arrival to Tharkeghyang, the largest Sherpa village in the Helambu region. Here, we will get a chance to explore the surroundings and climb the nearby mountain of the same name.

From its summit, we'll enjoy some of the best views of the entire trip, before beginning to make our way back to Kathmandu. However, we will also get plenty of other great views out over the Himalayas from various mountain passes throughout the trek.

Once back in Kathmandu, we will have the chance to explore the city and visit its various UNESCO World Heritage sites, before enjoying one final farewell dinner and cultural show then saying goodbye.

We had an amazing Mardi Himal trek. We booked last minute and we were dealt with promptly and professionally. The trek was fully customisable including a stay in a lovely hotel and bus rides to and from Kathmandu. Our guide Amir was awesome and made our trek everything we wanted. Thank you so much!
