Hiking the “Tres Macizos” in the Picos de Europa with summit on Sagrado Corazón, 3 days

Join me on this incredible adventure across the Tres Macizos in the Picos de Europa. Stay at an authentic shepherds cottage, and summit Sagrado Corazón on this 3 days adventure.

Our hiking adventure will take us through the Sierra del Cuera, which dominates Llanes. Also, it is one of the best viewpoints of the Picos de Europa and the Cantabrian Sea.

On the first stage of our trekking trip we’ll explore enchanting shepherds folds, learning about their traditional lifestyle. Even though this was an area once brimming with shepherds, nowadays, only a few dozen of families remain, mainly producing the famous Gamoneu cheese. Furthermore, we will stay at an authentic shepherds cabin. So we’ll get to recover our energies sitting by the fire and enjoying an exquisite meal.

Then, next day we’ll venture to the heart of the Central Massif as we reach the summit of the highest point at Sierra del Cuera. This area is famous not only for its beauty, but for the production of the Cabrales cheese.

Finally, on our third day, we’ll head back to our starting point, as we enjoy the most incredible views of Picos de Europa. What’s more, we’ll discover a unique mining scenery. And we’ll get to stand at the top of the Sagrado Corazón peak, standing at 2,220 meters approximately.

The first day of our trip, we will trek four about 13 kilometers and the second about 8 kilometers. The hiking routes we’ll take are quite easy. And we’ll do it at a comfortable pace. Hence, this program welcomes everyone, even beginners.
