    Itinerary

    Day 1: Somport to Arlet

Begin your adventure by meeting your guide at Somport Mountain Pass (pick-up available from Jaca or Canfranc). Your trek starts on the French side, surrounded by dense forests, charming shepherd huts, and the region’s famed cheese. Marvel at the dramatic Aspe amphitheatre and the picturesque Espelunguera valley.

Upon reaching Arlet Refuge, enjoy stunning views of the Midi d’Ossau, and if the skies are clear, a quick 20-minute walk to the border reveals the striking Aguas Tuertas in the Western Valleys Natural Park. Conclude your day with dinner and an overnight stay at Arlet Refuge.

    Day 2: Arlet to Lescun

After breakfast, set off along a trail that skirts the border of the Pyrenees. Traverse historic mountain passes like Saoubathou and Lo Palo—routes once used by workers and those fleeing conflict.

The descent into the Lescun valley introduces you to the peaceful life of the Béarn locals, with the towering peaks of the Lescun cirque contrasting against lush meadows dotted with traditional stone farmhouses and grazing cattle. Enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation at Camping Lauzart in Lescun.

    Day 3: Lescun to Linza

Your day starts along a paved road offering panoramic views of the Lescun cirque, highlighted by impressive rock formations such as Les Billaires, Mesa de los Tres Reyes, and Petrachema.

Stop in the Ansabere plain to sample some fine French cheese before tackling the climb to Las Agujas. Re-enter Spain as you descend through ancient beech forests toward Linza, where dinner and a cozy night at Linza Refuge await.

Day 4: Linza to Selva de Oza

After breakfast, leave your mountain hut and follow the path to Paso del Caballo. Your route takes you past challenging summits like Anzotiello, Mallo Gorreta, and Quimboa—peaks that seem to guard the secrets of the mountains. As you descend to Guarinza, you’ll encounter intriguing megalithic relics.

Once in Selva de Oza, unwind with a cold beer under the shelter of a majestic beech tree at the wooden cantine. A transfer then brings you to Gabardito Refuge for dinner and the night.

    Day 5: Gabardito to Lizara

Following breakfast, enjoy the shortest stage from Gabardito to Lizara—a roughly four-hour walk that offers an optional challenge: a climb to Bisaurin, the highest local summit boasting spectacular views.

If you opt for this additional ascent, expect about three extra hours of trekking. Dinner and an overnight stay at Lizara Refuge complete your day.

    Day 6: Lizara to Somport

On your final day, after breakfast, set off on one of the most scenic segments of your trek. Traverse the enchanting Valle de los Sarrios and be captivated by the shimmering Ibón de Estanés.

Although the path is lengthy, its challenges are balanced by mesmerizing landscapes. Begin with a two-hour uphill, continue through the Paul de Bernera and the Valle de los Sarrios, descend to the ibón, and finally cross the Bosque de las Hayas to reach Somport.

A transfer then takes you back to Canfranc or Jaca, marking the end of your remarkable journey.

Climbing with guide Guillaume was absolutely a highlight of my 2-week Europe vacation. Originally, we were planning on climbing in the Calanques, but the park was closed due to wind and fire danger. Guillaume chose another amazing location (Pic de Bretagne) based on my climbing abilities and preferences and kindly offered train station pick-up and hotel drop off, which I appreciated very much. The multi-pitch route we did was not only fun but also the right amount of challenge, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The communication from the team (Gauthier) was prompt and clear—highly recommend!

Luis Silva was a great climbing guide and belayer! He taught me how to do moves that were difficult and encouraged me to try routes that were challenging for me! Because of his encouragement, I managed to complete these routes! I really enjoyed the climbs and completed 8 routes in the Sesimbra/Azoia area. The weather was perfect, no direct sun and cool enough to enjoy the climbs. Explore-Share made booking an outdoor climbing experience in Lisbon extremely easy. Luis, our guide, was fantastic, and the platform’s organization was flawless.

We had Léo as a guide for our day climb in Fonty. We were blessed with a knowledgeable, warm, and instructive guide. Communication with Léo and Ivan was smooth and swift. Explore-Share was excellent in arranging everything for our day climb. The communication was quick, and the platform was easy to use, making our adventure stress-free.

Patrick was a great guide. He took us on an intermediate Via Ferrata at Passo Sella. Renato was quick to respond with any outreach on the Explore-Share platform. The booking process was straightforward, and once Patrick was confirmed, all went well. It was a wonderful experience, and I’d highly recommend the platform.
