If you’d like to know all the secrets of ice climbing, El Chaltén is the best school.

Instead of “courses” I would like to name them “Ice Clinics”. They imply a different way of learning this activity. I think that some ice climbing techniques should be taught from a new perspective. That is why I have planned this learning days in El Chaltén for all levels of climbers.

This program consists in applying a special way of training depending on the level and expertise of each participant. Therefore, I have designed these ice climbing clinics with different orientations, according to the expectations of my guests. They can take place in one, two and three days depending on your time in El Chaltén.

In these three options, you will find the best opportunity to learn from the most basic notions to the most advanced techniques. In this way, once the course finishes, you will be able to climb autonomously in ice and snow environments.

Come to El Chaltén during the Patagonian summer, from January to March-April. I am sure you will take the best from this ice clinic, in which you will become a qualified climber.

And if after this experience, you want to have a first contact with alpine snow, I recommend this glacier walk up to the Gorra Blanca Mount.

Contact me now for further information and make your reservation for the next season! It will be my pleasure to be your instructor during these days in El Chaltén.

If bad weather or unsuitable conditions force the guide to cancel the trip, he or she will: a) propose a similar activity at a different place where conditions are better, or b) propose to postpone the activity until a later date, or c) cancel. If you refuse option a), our cancellation policy will apply. Please note, however, that the call to cancel a trip due to bad weather can only be made by the guide (not the client).

About the Guide

Since 1985 we have been operating the best trekking programs in southern Patagonia. We are always looking for new itineraries, unique expeditions, little known spots, and we offer the highest quality outdoor activities in the area... A good example of this are our classic Ice Field Expeditions that have been running with great success for many years.

Our mountaineering origin made us choose this pristine part of the Andes; Southern Patagonia is a place ruled by immense glaciers, rough weather, and mountains such as Mt Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, a place not to miss.
We hope you join us in one of our programs so our guides can show you what Patagonia is about. We offer the best hotels, lodges and camping arrangements to suit everyone.
