Description

Boasting diverse terrains and incredible wildlife watching opportunities, northern Tanzania is the perfect place to head for an immersive Kilimanjaro and safari experience!

Over the coruse of 12 days, we will head up to the summit of Africa’s highest peak (5,895 meters/19,341 feet) via the Marangu route before visiting three different national parks and nature reserves for a series of safaris.

The adventure begins after you’ve come from the airport and transferred the Moshi. The following day, we will drive to the national park and the hiking begins.

Over the course of the following four days, we will hike through a dense tropical rainforest before crossing a high-altitude moorland and ascending into a rugged and arid “lunar” desert. On the way, we will climb Mawenzi ridge to get a good idea of what we’ve just passed through and what still lies ahead.

The undisputed highlight of this portion of the trip will be summit day. Starting from a hut situated in the middle of the “lunar” desert, we will climb up to Uhuru peak, the highest one on the Kilimanjaro massif.

Shortly before arriving at the top, we will enjoy a sublime sunrise over East Africa. We then continue on to the summit proper and celebrate out achievement before hiking back down.

The second half of the trip (well four days, to be precise) will be spent heading to three different national parks and nature reserves. In each of these incredible spots, we will have the chance to see the most iconic and endangered African wildlife.

In each of Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Crater – the eighth natural wonder of the world – and Serengeti National Park – the most famous one in the whole world – we will get the chance to see just about every animal native to East Africa.

Among the highlights will be seeing the highly endangered black rhino in the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro crater as well as giant cobras in Serengeti National Park.

Expect to see all the other main big game attractions across all three national parks as well.

So what are you waiting for? Book now for this once-in-a-lifetime 12-day exploration of Kilimanjaro and safari experience in Tanzania!

If you like the look of this trip, but want to spend more time hiking on Kilimanjaro, then we think you may also enjoy our 8-day ascent of Kilimanjaro via the Lemosho route!
