Description

Do you want to reach the top of one of the most popular peaks of the High Tatras? Then join me for this awesome mountaineering trip: let’s climb the impressive Ľadový peak (2,628m) in northern Slovakia!

Ľadový (“Ice Peak” in English) is the third highest peak of the Tatra Mountains and the entire Carpathian range. First climbed in 1843, it is also one of the most attractive alpine destinations of Central Europe.

On this mountaineering expedition we will head up the Normal Route, starting from Teryho Cottage or the Smokovec Village. The first option requires a moderately difficult climb while the second one is more challenging. However, both of them will take us to the exposed rock formations of Ľadový , known as “Icy Horse”. So it is necessary to have a good fitness level! In addition, we will cross some amazing spots such as the Spišské lake, and enjoy breathtaking views. We can also reach the summit of this impressive peak during the winter, using crampons and ice axes!

So, if you are up for this unforgettable experience in the High Tatras, please contact me. Let’s reach the summit of the Ľadový peak, in Slovakia!

I can also take you to the top of Gerlach, the highest peak in the area. Check it out!

Mountain Guide

I am a Slovak IFMGA guide, born in the mountains and thanks to my parents, I discovered the beauty of them early on. I started hiking, skiing and climbing there. Later, I improved my experiences as voluntary mountain rescuer, ski and climbing instructor. In 2012, I successfully passed examination and I became an official IFMGA mountain guide.

My home area is Tatras in Slovakia. I would like to share the feeling of the mountains with my clients that have no ambition to be a serious mountaineer. I love sharing great moments during freeriding, ski touring, avalanche courses, hiking or climbing. Not just in Slovakia!

Would you like to spend a nice day in the mountain with the feeling of safety and new experiences with a mountain guide?

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
