Description

An incredible TRIP between the mountains and the sea. Join me on this amazing ski touring experience in the Lofoten Islands in Norway!

The Lofoten is an archipelago in the Nordland province of Norway. It's well known for its wild natural beauty, with stunning peaks and beautiful beaches.

During these days, we will stay in a Rorbu, a traditional former fishermen's cottage, really comfortable and warm.  Besides, there is a great skiing atmosphere in the Lofoten Islands, between the mountains and the sea, with exciting ski touring spots.

I propose an 8-day ski touring program to enjoy the best ski runs, choosing every day the best spot according to snow and weather conditions.

This trip is really amazing, combining beautiful landscapes with granite walls into the sea and amazing snowy peaks. It's also a great opportunity to traverse on your skis the wild scenery of the Norwegian winter. All of these make these islands one of the most spectacular and unique ski destinations in the world.

If you want to join this trip you must have prior experience skiing in  varied terrain as well as knowledge about ski touring techniques, even on glaciated terrain. Also, you must be in good physical shape, as to make some short climbs.

We will have an altitude gain of about 800 to 1000 m a day. Depending on the peaks  we choose to climb, I will often propose a second trip during the day. If you are tired, you will be able to rest then, otherwise you can keep on skiing. As for your day pack, you just need a light bag to take the day picnic, some snacks and your safety equipment.

You will find bellow the next departure dates.  However, you can ask me to organise the same program on different dates, in case you can't attend the following.

So don't hesitate to contact me if you want to join me on this fascinating ski touring adventure. I will be glad to be your guide in this trip and help you discover such a beautiful place!

I also guide other great ski touring trips in countries like France, Italy, Switzerland, and..also in Iran! You should check them out,

Thx to Pierre for guiding us these days, everything was excellent. We were going to nice powder places even with difficult snow conditions. I didn’t have to think of anything, just followed the guide and enjoyed touring and skiing. Thx to Isabelle at le petite cerf for her hosting, food and excellent Organisation:)

Antoine at Azimut was an excellent guide. I had a great first climb because of him, will go again!

Had an absolutely fantastic experience on a 3 day trip of Gran Paradiso. Our guide Christophe Garrigues was incredibly knowledgeable and patient and ensured everyone in our group felt comfortable and confident when on the mountain or using new equipment. Definitely a trip to be repeated with Azimut and hopefully Christophe!

Quelques petits problèmes d'organisation , vite reglés par le guide très impliqué . Très bon choix pour l'Hotel. pour le programme, on devrait avoir un peu plus d'intensité lors de la préparation . le 1/2 jour de repos est le bienvenu

The Guide did not even know I'am on splitboard. Everyone else was on skis, I was the only one on board. Guide has no experience on board, so the daily trips was designed for skiers, not borders. I would like to know which company is responsible putting me in a ski group, Azimut or Explore-Share? If you don't know the difference between what is doable with skis and splitboards, you would not sell trips for splitboarders! In the only day I could enjoy somehow, I did very hard time to stay on my feet on icy steeps, because I should have had a crampon, but I did not have it, because the list of necessary equipment does not mention it. All the skiers had one. The guide anyway did what he could to help me, all the respect for Rafael. But the whole trip was a fuckup for me that way. I really want to know who is responsible!?

Had a great trip. Unfortunately the guide was not fluent in English as written in the description. That is something that could lead to a very tricky situation if there would‘ve been a dangerous situation. The selection of the group by azimut was not the best as at least one person was physically not capable of doing this trip. However, the service by explore-share was great!

I was disappointed. I was slower than the rest of the group reaching Tete Rousse, and the guide discouraged me from going to Gouter. I had a slight ankle sprain the day before which slowed my ascent. I recovered 95% the day after. My complaint: when I decided to go for a second guided attempt, at a slower pace, I received no help in securing a guide, or a reservation at Gouter. The online reservation showed fully booked both for Rousse and Gouter. But I know that there were lots of empty bunks at Rousse, and I suspect the same at Gouter. I received sympathy, but only as a formality. Initially I had sought a single dedicated guide, but I was encouraged to join a group. I did not get a choice.I should have known better, I knew my pace would be a bit slower, but I counted on your support and understanding. I got neither. I was on my own with no help.
