Located at the northern end of the famous Lyngen Fjord in northern Norway, the remote island of Uløya is a truly extraordinary place. Unique landscapes of stunning peaks and steep walls falling straight into the sea with lots of powder snow make for one of the most spectacular ski touring destinations in the world. Uløya is the only place on Earth where you can find 1000m-long slopes inclined at almost any angle, and falling right into the dark blue waters of the fjords. This is the Arctic, where you can really feel like you are on the edge of the world!
In this program, we will visit the most impressive peaks and slopes of Uløya. Additionally, we will have a modern and safe boat (8.5 m or 7.2 m, 150 HP aluminum) at our disposal. Some of the options that you can enjoy on this adventure include:
Going to the summit of Saeteraksla and Blåtinden (1142m) starting right from the doorstep of the lodge, enjoy a 15 km ski tour day then return for a cold beer and a relaxing hot sauna.
The famous Grand Traverse of Uløya, from Uløybukt to Havnnes - a 20 km ridge ski route taking in Kjelvagtinden (1104m), Uløytinden (1114m), and Blåtinden (1142m).
Boat tours with a beach landing and pick-up to explore the neighboring islands of Kågen and Arnøya with their serene valleys and amazing slopes.
Sea fishing. Our skipper can take you to the fishing grounds where you can catch your dinner.
Kid-friendly activities: fishing, snow-hole building, games using Arvas (searching and digging out a person, etc), and easy ski tours.
Upon prior request - ice climbing on virgin couloirs, icefalls, and rock walls.
We offer stays for groups of 3 to 6 people in very comfortable apartments with breathtaking views. Our guides, all IFMGA-certified with excellent local knowledge, will help you get the most out of this experience, And finally, our chef will prepare a tasty dinner based on fresh fish and even moose and reindeer. In March and early April, you can see the beautiful Northern Lights!
So if you wish to discover this ski touring paradise in Norway, just send us a request! Book your trip and join us on this trip of a lifetime!
