Description

Join me on this 4-day ascent and reach the summit of Mount Kazbek (5047m), one of the most beautiful and remarkable mountains in the Caucasus range. The mountain is known locally as Mkhinvari.

Located near near the city of Stepantsminda in Georgia, near the border with Russia, Kazbek is a great mountaineering experience and a popular climb. Although it is not a technically difficult ascent, and it offers a convenient access, it is quite physically challenging, due to the high altitude.

On the first day, we will meet in Tbilisi, the capital city, and travel 157 km to Stepantsminda (1740m), a mountain village in north-eastern Georgia. From there we will hike for six hours to the meterological station (3700m) where we will set our camp.

The second day will be dedicated to relax and acclimatization to local climate conditions and we will hike to the Betlemi Church (3900m). The next day, we will begin our ascent towards the summit of Mount Kazbek, very early in the morning, and descend back to our camp.

Finally, on the fourth day, we will descend to Stepantsminda and return to Tbilisi. Please note that in case of bad weather, we will add an extra day to the tour, making it a 5-day trip.

Just send me a request if you want to join me on this ascent to Mount Kazbek summit. Book your trip and get ready for a great mountaineering experience in Georgia.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
