If you are a daredevil who wants something more than a traditional climb, then, join us on this daunting trip to the summit of Mount Kinabalu where we’ll not only climb but also tackle the thrilling “Walk the Torq” via ferrata.
Also known as the ‘iron rod’ , the Torq is considered the world’s highest and Asia’s first via ferrata taking us to an insane height of 3,200m to 3,800m above sea level. This guarantees that you will experience an adrenaline rush, but at the same time feel an enormous thrill, so make sure you don’t miss the trip.
We’ll begin at your hotel in Kona Kinabula at 6.30 AM from where we’ll pick you up and take you to Kinabalu Park. After registration, we’ll drive you to get to the starting point of the trek.
A good hike of about 4 hours takes us to the comfortable Pendant Hut. Here, you’ll have a mandatory via ferrata familiarization training at 3.30 PM to prepare you for the sport. Thereafter, you are free to spend the rest of the evening relaxing and enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery.
The next day, starting early at about 1. 30 AM, we’ll set out on our journey to the top by our torchlight. Ascending gradually, we’ll climb for a good 3 hours to reach the summit just in time to see a beautiful sunrise.
Afterward, we’ll descend from Low’s Peak at 6 AM and meet our trainer at Sayat Sayat Hut for the amazing Walk the Torq via ferrata experience. The adventure will begin at 7.15 AM and continue for the next two hours. It is an intermediate level ferrata, so if you have previous experience, you should be just fine!
After an exhilarating experience, you’ll descend to Pendant Hut at 9.30 AM and further get down to end this exceptional trip.
So, if you have what it takes, send a request now to have an experience of a lifetime in Malaysia. It is definitely worth it! Also, check out another via ferrata trip to the summit of Kinabalu here.
