Mountaineering in the Arêtes du Mercantour

The Mercantour National Park is in a unique setting: in the Alps, neighbouring the Mediterranean Sea. The beauty of the area is truly worth a visit. And even better, an immersion into this magic environment.

Therefore, I propose to spend three days in the Arêtes du Mercantour. Indeed, I planned a mountaineering program to enjoy the surroundings while learning about this discipline.

We will climb the summits around the Madone de Fenestre during three days. The Madone de Fenestre (1904m) is a sanctuary. We will sleep and eat at the cozy Madone mountain hut, which is the starting point of many hikes in the area.

We will cover several topic for you to learn the proper techniques. This will include how to:
– set mechanical protections
– belay on spikes
– move together
– descend belaying
