  • Relaxing 2-day getaway in the beautiful mountains outside of Seattle

  • Learn about the basics of camping and backpacking for your future adventures

  • Enjoy a beautiful sunset from the woods or on the banks of a mountain lake

Enjoy a relaxing two days soaking up the fresh mountain air and basking in the picturesque landscapes outside of Seattle! You will also learn all the basics of camping and backpacking for your next camping getaway!

During this overnight trip, we will relax in the woods while learning about the fundamentals of camping and backpacking.  We will depart from the trailhead and make our way along the trail at a leisurely pace. While we hike, we will discuss important topics related to backpacking and camping, such as outdoor safety, Leave no Trace principles, light packing tips, mechanics of backpacking, and outdoor cooking from meal prep, to execution, to clean-up.

Once we arrive at our camping spot on the banks of a tranquil lake (either: Annette Lake, Snow Lake, Talapus Lake, or Olallie Lake), we will set up camp and begin dinner preparations. Once this is taken care of, you are free to enjoy the remainder of the evening at your leisure. You may choose to lounge by the lake or explore the surrounding landscape a bit more on foot. Whatever you choose, it will be a relaxing and peaceful evening and a memorable wilderness sunset. The next morning, we enjoy a satisfying breakfast before breaking camp and hiking out.

This trip is suitable for beginners who are interested in learning the basics of camping and backpacking so that they can return to the woods on their own! The hike is not challenging, and we will move at a comfortable pace. Minimum age: 13 years old (note: We offer this as a separate trip for families with children under 13 years old).

Book this trip now and you will spend a lovely 2 days relaxing in the scenic mountain landscapes outside of Seattle!
