Paklenica National Park is packed full of natural treasures located along the Adriatic Sea in Croatia.
Home to the impressive canyons of both Mala (Small) Paklenica and Velika (Big) Paklenica, that connect to the southern slopes of the Velebit mountain range, which is part of the larger Dinaric Alps.
The park is populated with scenic karst spires and sculptures, rising from the mountain meadows and forested valleys. For this reason it is considered one of the top climbing areas in Europe.
There are approximately 400 climbing routes ranging in difficulty and length, with the season stretching from early spring to late autumn.
This beginners climbing course is designed for people over the age of 16 who want to know the fundamentals of rock climbing and would like to be an independent climber in the future.
You will learn about the necessary equipment, what it is and how to properly use it. You will know and practise how to tie knots for climbing, how to belay, how to read the topography and find your route.
Then you’ll learn how to do top roping, how to lead climb and the proper technique of abseiling.
