Often called the climbing capital of Morocco, the Todra Gorge has been a magnet for climbers from around the world ever since it gained popularity in the 1980s. Its striking red limestone offers superb friction and features, making it one of the country’s top destinations for rock climbing. With a sunny, dry climate almost all year long, it’s an ideal place to climb, explore, and capture incredible photos of its towering walls and narrow canyon passages.
If you're looking to make the jump from indoor walls to outdoor rock, this is the perfect place to begin. Todra is beginner-friendly while still offering exciting challenges for every level.
The area is a true classic: sport routes, multi-pitch lines, bolted and semi-bolted options — all set on exceptional brown limestone. You’ll find everything from short, fun 20-meter routes to impressive 400-meter adventures that can fill your entire day. All of it lies in a dramatic landscape on the eastern side of the Atlas Mountains.
And the best part? The approach is practically nonexistent — you climb right from the car park.
Your package includes a certified climbing guide, all transfers between Marrakech and Tinghir, and comfortable accommodation in the Todra Gorge. During your stay, you’ll enjoy hearty Moroccan breakfasts and daily packed lunches, giving you plenty of energy for long days on the rock and a delicious introduction to traditional local cuisine.
Ready to join the adventure? Sign up for an open-group date — perfect if you’re transitioning from indoor climbing or want to climb with a friendly, supportive group.
Don’t miss out — come climb Todra with us!
We’ll meet as a group in Marrakech and check into a comfortable 3-star (or similar) hotel. After settling in, we’ll head out to explore the old medina — winding through narrow streets, colourful souks and lively markets, sampling local flavours and soaking up the city's unique sights, sounds and smells. It’s a relaxed, social way to kick off the trip and get to know everyone before we head for the mountains.
Included
We’ll collect our rental vehicles (Dacia Duster or similar) and drive east, crossing the High Atlas and passing through scenic Berber villages. We’ll stop for lunch en route (lunch today is not included) and continue on to Tinghir. Expect about 7 hours of driving in total.

These days are unhurried — after all, this is a holiday. Each morning we’ll enjoy a hearty Berber breakfast, then head to nearby sport-climbing crags in the peaceful gorge. We’ll carry packed lunches and plenty of water, spend the day climbing amid the spectacular scenery, then return to the hotel to rest and enjoy dinner. If the group chooses a rest day, you can explore Tinghir’s kasbahs and markets, or try the Todra Via Ferrata as an alternative activity.

Relax on the drive back and spend your final evening however you like — visit the Jewish quarter, see the traditional tanneries (camel-hide dyeing pits), or join locals for nightlife. We’ll stay one last night in Marrakech at a comfortable 3-star (or similar) hotel.

!NOT recommended at all! I've booked an alpine climbing guided tour, with you, and you matched me with 'kooKoo' a subcontractor of yours. They have matched me with Their guide (named - farran)who was actualy was not a guide, and had no guiding skills whatsoever(he probably was a good climber or even a certified one) During the whole trip he never actauly guided, or instructed. In fact he tried to disencourage us, from continuing the trip. He was indeed a lame person, and totaly unfit for such a dangerous task, which involves phisycal risks such as injury or even death. The trip was evantually seized during the acclimatisation. This guide decided we (me and the other climber) are not fit enough, and offered an alrernate tour. Which, i've declined, since each additional second with this guy was indeed, a waste of my time. And of course, a refund/partial refund from KooKoo, was not an option, after reporting this story to Xavi (KooKoo's manage). In total, im certainly and strongly, will NOT recommend Kookoo nor 'explore-share' to anyone who im in favour off. Cincerely, Teddy

I had the most amazing experience on this trip - everything was organised incredibly well. I could not have asked for a more perfect guide - I felt so safe with Martin, he went above and beyond his duties to make it a Mont Blanc summit to remember, so encouraging and positive, and he was such a joy to have for company too (lots of fun!). The food was great at the huts (catering for vegetarians too). The acclimatisation hikes and stay in the hut before we made our summit attempt were perfect to ensure we avoided altitude symptoms. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone who is fit and ready for an incredible challenge with spectacular views.

The guide did a great job balancing the different abilities of those he was guiding. I was paired with a much less fit climber who was too slow to make the journey safely and successfully, but the guide was still eager to find a way to get me to the summit, which he did! He was very pleasant, very respectful, very helpful in every aspect, and his knowledge of the mountain and the route was top-rate.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
