Description

Would you like to spend an entire day skiing with one of the best skiers in Japan? Then follow me. Let me show you some of the best descents of the Tohoku area!

I am a Freeride World Qualifier ranked 10th in Japan. I love to share the natural jewels of my country with other skiers and Tohoku is certainly one of those!

This scenic area is in the northeastern portion of Honshu, the largest island of the country. It is an ideal spot for winter sports with great snow conditions, uncrowded areas and fresh powder!

There are different options to choose from on this fun skiing adventure! Geto Kogen and Tazawako are near Morioka and Mount Iwate, perfect for powder skiing. In the south, the impressive Mount Bandai is surrounded by several ski resorts. Other options include Hakkoda, in Aomori, and Zao Onsen, in Yamagata.

Participant will need to have appropriate insurance coverage (including skiing and snowboarding)

I am not a certified mountain guide, so please keep in mind that, for safety reasons, we will stay within ski resort boundaries at all times.

I started my skiing career in freestyle skiing - in moguls. Back then, I competed in a lot of freestyle skiing competition such as Big Air. Afterwards, I discovered and immediately fell in love with skiing the mountains "as is" and entered the world of freeride skiing.

I am currently based in the city of Morioka, which is located in the Iwate Prefecture of Tohoku, Japan. I do a lot of backcountry skiing here, particularly in the Amihari and Hachimandaira areas.

I am a Freeride World Tour Qualifier who is currently ranked 10th in Japan.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
