Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival to Gassan Pole Pole Farm

You can arrive in Tokyo or Chitose via plane or bullet train, and we will arrange transportation for you accordingly. Here's an example itinerary for traveling from Niseko or other Hokkaido ski resorts:

15:50: Arrival at Yamagata airport via JL2843 14:35/15:50 from New Chitose airport. A shuttle bus will take you directly to the hotel.

17:30: Check-in at the Gassan Pole Pole farm hotel.

Day 2: Journey to Mt. Gassan

At 8:00, we will venture to Mt. Gassan, a mountain that stands at nearly 2000m (6500 feet) high. Our plan for the day involves backcountry exploration. We will utilize a snow-cat to ascend to approximately 1600m (5300 feet), allowing us to relish the pristine powder snow without any crowding.

By 16:00, after our backcountry skiing escapade, we will return to a warm and inviting mountain villa for an early dinner.

At 18:00, you can partake in the local night skiing experience, marking your final night in Yamagata. This presents an opportunity to savor the memorable night powder snow.

Day 3: Final skiing day

At 9:00, you can engage in a full day of skiing or snowboarding at the Mt. Zao ski resort.

By 15:30, we will head to Yamagata station or Yamagata airport. Your arrival in Tokyo is expected around 22:00.

If you are looking for a unique ski trip destination, needless to say, with great powder snow,  we can offer them.

We offer an English-speaking ski resort and backcountry guide service, and an accommodation and transportation arranging service these are problems when moving around the Japanese countryside.

There are still many ski resorts in the Tohoku region, especially in Yamagata, that are not well known to foreigners. You can enjoy them with us. You may customize your itinerary according to your wishes.

We are running a hotel, which is cozy mountain villa accommodation in this Mt.Gassan area.
You will be able to relieve your pleasant fatigue after ski at our hotel.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice.
