Description

Hakuba area (Ushiro-Tateyama mountain range) is one of the most famous backcountry destinations in Japan.

There are options to enjoy lift assisted sidecountry skiing to full blown alpine backcountry skiing.

From Tokyo, you can reach Nagano station on Hokuriku shinkansen (bullet train). I can pick you up there and drive you to our chosen ski area.

There are numerous routes and possibilities according to your wishes and experience level. Each day we’ll choose a different spot depending on the weather and condition of the day.

For this trip, I recommend you to have some off piste skiing / snowboarding experience as well as being able to hike up a couple of hours a day.

This can be a 2-day or several day tour and it can be customized to suit your needs.

Finally, I will drop you off at JR Nagano station where you can get direct bullet train back to Tokyo.

If the idea of ski touring in Hakuba area sounds tempting, send a request! We can talk about your preferences and adapt the trip to your wishes and experience.

I offer many ski trips in different Japanese areas. If you’re seeking other options, you may want to check out this freeride ski trip in Nozawa Onsen.
