Description

Located in the heart of the Caucasus area, the ancient region of Svaneti falls in the northwest of Georgia. Surrounded by several towering peaks of the Caucasus Mountain Range which go over 3000m, this is one area not to be missed. Join me for one day or many on an amazing skiing tour in this region in Georgia.

This trip has a lot of offer. You will ski and free ride on huge mountains with neverending snow. It is no less than a dreamy landscape with snow-covered coniferous forests and spectacular glaciers. No doubt it is considered one of the most beautiful places in the country! In fact, Mount Shkhara (5201m), the highest mountain in Georgia also lies here. And, apart from natural attractions, the region is also popular for its historical stone villages.

We will begin in the town of Mestia in Svaneti. There is a bunch of options to choose from and you can select according to your skill level and preference. We can ski on the high peak of Tetnuldi, around the spectacular Koruldi Lakes, on Chalaadi Glacier or the UNESCO World Heritage site of Ushguli. Imagine walking on powder snow in so scenic a setting! You will have a remarkable time, we assure you.

This is an easy trip open to everyone. And you can extend it for as many days as you want. You can also select the excellent location of Hatsvali or the Guli Pass. What better way to discover traditional mountain culture and explore the bewildering nature than a fun free-riding tour?

So, don’t shy away from contacting me if you want to be a part of this remarkable Svaneti skiing tour next winter. I will be glad to show you the best spots in this outstanding region of Georgia.

Do check out my 7- day freeride skiing and ski touring in Gudauri if looking for a longer trip.

Ilia together with his colleague Giorgi were the best guides we could have wished for. Not only showing us great skiing and ski touring spots but also introducing us to the Georgian life.
