Description

Are you looking for an unforgettable skiing adventure in the Pyrenees? Then this trip is for you! Join me for a 4-day trip and ski with an expert guide and a professional in Val d’Aran!

Val d’Aran is a beautiful valley located in the heart of the Pyrenees, in the Spanish province of Lleida. It is home of Baqueira-Beret, the biggest and most famous ski resort in Spain. With its many untracked areas and top-quality powder snow, this destination is perfect for freeride lovers.

On this tour, we will explore amazing terrain with an expert local guide. In addition, a Freeride World Tour skier will join us for two days to share with some awesome descents with us!

During four days, we will ski at Baqueira Beret and Val d’Aran reaching both famous spots and some remote areas (a heliskiing day is in the menu). We will work on ascent and descent techniques, so you will surely improve your level! Furthermore, at the end of our adventure, you will receive a professional video with the highlights of the trip!

Keep in mind that this tour is only suitable for advanced skiers with a good fitness level. Of course, I will be there to help and guide you on the way!

Itinerary

Day 0: Previous meeting

Briefing at the meeting point at 08PM.

Day 1: Freeride at Baqueira-Beret

We will get to the most remote spots in the Baqueira-Beret, in the company of a professional local rider. Then, we will review the techniques of descent on powder snow and the safety protocols. Additionally, we will introduce techniques of individual and group descent on complex terrains.

Timing:

Meeting at 9AM at the Baqueira Beret base, in front of the ticket offices.

Skiing until 04:45 PM, with a stop to eat something.

Day 2: Ski mountaineering at Baqueira-Beret

We will return to Baqueira-Beret to continue improving our descent techniques and tactics. On this day we will focus on the ascent and the choice of itineraries.

Timing:

Meeting at 9AM at the Baqueira Beret base, in front of the ticket offices.

Ski until 04:45 PM, with a stop to eat something.

Day 3: Heliskiing

We will board the helicopter with our mountain equipment to reach our destination. Then, we will ascend towards the chosen peak putting into practice what we have learned. Finally, we will descend to the refuge for a warm and cozy rest.

Timing:

Meeting at 08AM at the Velha Heliport

Ascent: 2 hours (500m)

Arrival at the hut: 2PM

Dinner: 7PM

Day 4: The big ride

After having breakfast in the hut, you will put into practice everything that you have learned. You will choose your line of ascent and descent. End of the adventure and return to the starting point.

Timing:

Breakfast: 8AM

Ascent: 4 hours (700m)

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
