Description

Experience the mysterious forested slopes of Hokkaido with me, a professional Freeride World Tour skier, on a half-day skiing trip.

I am ranked seventeenth in the world, and first in Japan. I intimately know the mountains of Hokkaido, which I use as my base, and have discovered the secret powder points of the region.

Hokkaido is the second largest island of Japan that is located in the northernmost point of the country. The geography of the island ideally lies within a weather pattern that brings an abundance of white powder. Some areas even hold approximately 14-18 meters of snowfall each year.

The deep powder that flurries down on Hokkaido has made its reputation as a world-class resort. And with the island being sparsely populated, it holds a stronger rural environment. Less tracks and deeper wilderness. Less noise and greater solitude.

The island of Hokkaido is home to a collection of ski resorts in close proximity. Such as Rusutsu, a haven for deep powder snow, with annual falls of 14 meters. It is home to some of the greatest tree skiing in the world.

Or the resort of Niseko, which is one of Japan’s most international resorts, receiving constant snow and home to quality runs. Or the Asahidake resort which contains the highest mountain in Hokkaido. Mount Asahi is a stratovolcano, which last erupted in 1739, and rises to 2,291 meters. With the slopes so high, it keeps the snow cool, which provides great quality runs.

So take advantage of this opportunity and join me in the sublime Japanese mountains of Hokkaido.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
