Snowshoeing day around Haut Verdon in Provence, France

Follow me on this 1-day snowshoeing program and discover a fantastic trail in southeastern France. We’ll enjoy amazing views of the Verdon River in the region of Haut Verdon, in Provence.

This itinerary will take place in the French commune of Thorame-Haute, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department, near the Verdon River. Once there, we’ll revel at the beautiful peaks and lovely flora and fauna.

On this 1-day trip, we’ll put our snowshoes on and follow a snow-covered trail that will lead us to a natural balcony. We’ll depart from the village of Peyresq, cross the gorgeous fir trees in the Serpeigier forest and explore the Plateau de Champlatte. Finally, at the end of the trail, we’ll catch great views of the Verdon River and the Thorame-Basse area.

Although this snowshoeing program is not demanding, keep in mind that we’ll reach an altitude of 1,700 meters and face an elevation gain of 400 meters. Therefore, it’s important to have a good level of fitness.
