Whether on snowshoes or skis we’re able to offer a variety of day and multi-day trips within the Swiss Alps of Valais and Vaud.
Snowshoeing is a great winter activity because it is low impact but high in rewards! On these snowshoeing adventures, we will make sure to outline the best route for you and your group. Whether you decide to travel with friends, family, as part of a small or large group, we can find a way to make snowshoeing in Switzerland an experience you will never forget!
Ski touring is a growing winter sport that allows you to ‘earn your turns’ and experience some incredible winter landscapes with off-piste descents. Some off-piste ski experience is essential for this trip.
Off-piste skiing allows you to escape the crowds on the pistes whilst experiencing some of the great terrains of the Swiss Alps. If you’re interested in developing your off-piste skiing skills we can create a trip to meet your needs.
Because we offer flexible itineraries that are adapted to your needs, everyone is welcome to join. Of course, we will assess your level and preferences as well as snow conditions, in order to ensure your enjoyment and safety.
You can either meet us at the agreed starting point, or we can arrange to pick you up from a train station in the Rhône valley, from Montreux to Visp.
SKI RESORTS we cater to: Leysin, Les Diablerets, Villars, Gryon, Ovronnaz, Anzere, Crans-Montana, Zinal-Grimentz, Nax, Verbier, Champex-Lac, Les Marrecottes, Champery, Morgins, Chatel, Torgon and more…
We’re sure you will love these spectacular programs! Contact us now and let’s start planning an unforgettable adventure.
Or, if you prefer you can join us on this unique 3-day snowshoeing program to the St. Bernard Monastery!

What sort of activities do you guide?
We offer a wide variety of winter activities, from skiing off-piste, ski touring, and cross-country skiing, to snowshoeing. If you've got a specific idea in mind, you can run it by us and we can find alternatives for you! We've got access to many guides with a multitude of skills and qualifications.
How fit do I need to be?
This depends on what you would like to achieve in the day. Our guides will tailor options to your needs. Ideally, for a full day's adventure, you need to be fit enough to walk or ski in the mountains for up to 5 hours per day.
What's included?
1 day's guiding cost
Specialist avalanche equipment (if applicable)
Snowshoes and poles (if applicable)
Are there any extra costs?
Depending on the activity or location you choose to explore, there may be extra costs involved such as:
What should I bring?
Equipment
Clothing
Please make sure that you have non-cotton clothing for trekking.

Where does the trip start/end?
As a tailored trip, this will be agreed upon with your guide. It will be influenced by your location, what your aims are for the day, and the snow conditions.
What is the maximum group size?
This is dictated by the activity.
Snowshoeing - 12 people
Cross-country skiing - 8 people
Off-piste skiing - 4 people
Ski touring - 4 people
For other activities, please check.
Is there a minimum group size?
No, you are paying a daily guide rate, with maximum group sizes applied for safety. Your group can split the cost of the day.
What is the minimum age?
As a private trip there is no minimum age, however, we would ask that you have a good conversation with us to discuss the needs and capabilities of your group, particularly if there are children under the age of 16 years.
What altitude do reach?
This depends on the activity and snow conditions. Expect to go up to 2500m of altitude. Altitude sickness is not normally an issue at this height.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. We would always recommend getting travel insurance well before your trip departure date. Even if you sprain an ankle you will need a helicopter pick-up, and without insurance, this will be pricey. If you need to cancel last minute, you may be able to claim insurance for the cost of the trip.
Your travel insurance needs to include search and rescue, with hiking up to 3000m. We are sorry that we are unable to recommend insurance providers. Check the normal price comparison websites but be sure to select winter sports cover.
What is the weather like?
It varies. On ideal days it is cold and sunny but this is a mountain pass and we can have any of the 4 seasons. So come prepared. If there are snow storms we will need to adapt the itinerary.
What if there is bad weather?
While we do everything we can to match this advertised itinerary, your safety is our number one concern. We can always get out and about and do something, but the guide will need to consider if a route is potentially dangerous and at risk of avalanche conditions. In such a situation your guide will choose another suitable and safe route.

Grigor is an excellent guide. He is very approachable, friendly and inclusive. He engages with all the members well in the Group and organises the trip very well. I really enjoyed having him as guide and hope I have him again on future trips.

Great 4 day TMB trek with Alps Adventure. Good itinerary covering 3 countries and staying in half board huts. The guide did her best accommodating the group which had a wide range of experience levels.

Tom was a wonderful guide. He kept the group going and modified the trip as needed to accommodate individuals making the best experience for everyone. I think this trip is suitable for anyone in good shape who is used to hiking. The slow pace made the elevation a challenge but overall no issue for me. Make sure you have good boots and socks to avoid blisters and achy feet.

Loved this experience! Our guide was Mark and he certainly is a goldmine of knowledge and patient with our group. I had plenty of questions and Mark did his best in answering them. Dont be like me and definitely bring the suggested 100 CHF + 100 EUR. Fortunately however, some of the cafes and refugios do take card! Another thing to add, unless you plan on walking barefoot/socks definitely bring your evening sandals/slippers. The first and last refuges have plenty for guests; the 2nd one however I did not see. Used a 26L backpack which worked out fine as well. Luckily, there is a storage space in the Vert Lodge for anything you dont wish to bring as well.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
