Description
Snowshoeing is one of the best ways to immerse yourself into the stunning natural beauty of winter. Join me on this day tour around Mount Mounier, in the Mercantour National Park, and enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the region.
The itinerary will take us through the slopes of Mount Mounier (2817m) to the Ars-Countent ridge (crête du Countent), in the Haut Cians valley. Mount Mounier is one of the most famous peaks in the Alpes- Maritimes.
This beautiful mountain is a vast white desert in winter, with breathtaking landscapes. As we hike on the slopes of Mount Mounier, we will discover beautiful places bathed in sunshine.
Then, we will reach a spectacular viewpoint, with stunning views over the Mercantour valleys: the Tinée, the Valdeblore, the Vésubie, the Haute Roya and its summits, the Beuil/Valberg plateaus to the Upper Var Valley, and even the Cheiron, the Prealps and the Verdon.
During this day, we’ll face an elevation gain of 500 meters and reach a maximum altitude of 2007 meters.

I booked a tour with Fabrice on late May, definitely the highlight of my holiday, we went on a hike around Casterino It was a relaxed hike with great sights of mountain forests and lakes, I got to see some of the local fauna and flora of the park, ibex, marmots, chamois, although not as much as they would be in the area, possibly because of the wolfs (we saw some footprints). Overall it is a great way to see the surroundings. I would definitely recommend Fabrice as a guide for your next hike!
