Snowshoeing weekend from Refuge CAF Bouilloues, France (2 days)

The French Pyrenees are a breathtaking area worth exploring, with places like the Refuge CAF Bouilloues as the perfect location for a snowshoeing adventure.

CAF Bouilloues is a beautiful mountain refuge very easily accessible. The weather conditions around this incredible place bless it with tons of snow every winter. So snowshoeing is the ideal way to explore this area and reach places otherwise difficult to get to.

We’ll depart from Pla del Mir on the first day of our journey. After that, we’ll go to the Angels, to later visit Lake Aude. To reach this mesmerizing lake, we’ll cross enchanting forests of black pines and intriguing paths perfect for our snowshoes. Once we reach the lake, we’ll head towards our refuge, to recover our energies and get ready for the fun to come.

Then, the next day, after a delicious breakfast, we’ll get ready to reach the summit of Roc d’Aude. This majestic peak standing at over 2,300 meters, will give us the best views of the area. And you can get incredible pictures that will be the envy of everyone you know!

Please note that due to the distances we’ll cover on both days, participants should have a good fitness level. But, if you don’t have any previous experience, worry not. I will teach you how to use the snowshoes. And I will be with you at all times to ensure your fun and safety.
