Description
The Sollipulli is one of the great volcanos of the Araucania region in the Chilean Andes. Its huge crater is completely covered and can be crossed on this amazing traverse. There are also some restoring hot springs at the base of the mountain, which we will have the chance to explore on this unforgettable 2-day trek.
We will set off from Temuco to our trailhead in Melipeuco, and from there, we will begin our trek through a beautiful forest and through a glacier. After crossing the glaciated crater we will set up camp and then on the following day, we will explore the Alpehue valley and reset in the hot springs at the base of the volcano. This exciting adventure will end with a farewell asado before we return to Temuco.
The trekking will be demanding, and we will be hiking between 8 and 10 hours each day. Therefore, you should be physically fit.

Itinerary
Day 1: Sollipulli Volcano
We will set off from Temuco to Melipeuco to the trekking route starting point. We will cross beautiful forests and after a few hours, we will reach the glacier in its crater, which we will cross before setting up camp on the southeast side of the volcano.
Day 2: Alpehue River
We will descend the Alpehue river valley until we reach the Queupude hot springs. We will continue on down the river until our transfer, which will take us to a beautiful spot for a delicious farewell asado.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland.
