Description

Would you like to join a unique springtime backcountry ski adventure in Japan? Then come with me to Tateyama and I will show you the best powder in the area.

We will begin our trip by meeting at Ougisawa station around 8 am. From there, we will take a 1 and 1/2 hour bus and cable car transfer to Tateyama. After a day of unforgettable skiing, we will spend the night at a mountain hut with access to typical Onsen hot springs. The next day, we will enjoy some more fun out in the snow until around 3 pm. We will return to Ougisawa station at 5 pm.

Keep in mind that we will spend around 2-3 hours climbing with a 600m elevation gain. Therefore, you will need a good fitness level. However, I will be happy to tailor the adventure to suit your preferences. Additionally, keep in mind that you will need prior ski touring experience as well as be able to handle your own equipment (climbing skins,  ski touring boot, ski crampons). Of course, I will be there to guide you every step of the way.

So, are you ready for some springtime backcountry skiing in Japan? Then contact me now and let’s start planning your adventure!

About the guide

When I was a student, I was fascinated by the scenery and nature of the Japanese Alps and I visited this area by motorcycle. I got into this field to know more about mountaineering and skiing.

Japan is well known as a powder skiing destination. We have plenty of nice slopes in the area. I will guide you where local skiers ski.

Moreover, we have many other great things besides skiing, such as cozy small villages, delicious food and warm onsen hot springs. So you can experience all the Japanese atmosphere.

I am a local Japanese Ski/Trekking guide in Nagano, Hakuba area. Let me show you what I love about Japan!
