Description

This 25-day Upper Dolpo Trekking trip I will guide you on takes us through a remote area of Nepal full of amazing scenery such as majestic mountains, mesmerizing waterfalls, awesome rivers and the highest table-land in the world, with native and exotic flora and fauna dotting the landscape and the Pre Buddhist Bon Po religion influencing the people that live here.

Dolpa is a region in Nepal in the North of the country, sharing a border with Tibet. The focal point of the region is the Shey Phoksumdo National Park, with the remote nature of the area allowing wildlife and nature to thrive unspoiled.

Our trip begins when we all meet in Kathmandu, and after a couple of days of sightseeing and preparing, day 3 is when we fly to Nepalgunj, just 8km from the Indian border, and being the trip proper.

Over the course of the trip we will be exposed to some of the most breathtaking and jaw-dropping landscape, scenery and terrain in Nepal, with the Phoksundo Lake, Kang La Pass, Saldang and Sibu particular highlights.

Some of the barren landscapes on the high plateau often appear lunar in nature, with the vast open spaces adding to its epic scale.

The rich, vivid colours of Phoksundo Lake are also a post-card pretty sight, and animals such as blue sheep, grey monkeys and snow leopards roaming the land makes for a memorable setting.

There will be ample time to learn about and gain knowledge of the many villages and communities we stop at, with the peaceful and spiritual Pre Buddhist Bon Po Religion heavily influencing everyone who lives here.

After 25 days we hope you will have fallen even more in love with this exquisite country.

Thank you explore-share for a wonderful via feratta experience. We have been wanting to learn for a long time but don't have the facilities in Scotland. The guide Mitja was extremely helpful and knowledgeable, answering all my many questions and providing advice. On the day head to take another group but he quickly arranged another guide Borut, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic morning learning via ferrata at Hvadnik in the gorge. It gave us the confidence to later hire our own equipment and go out in Mojstrana. Altogether a five star + experience. Thank you.
