An extremely popular and wonderfully scenic hiking route, the Vereda de la Estrella will show you a number of tremendous highlights in the Sierra Nevada. You will get to gaze at the faces of the highest and most spectacular peaks in the Sierra Nevada. Some of those mountains include Mulhacen (3,479m), Veleta (3,366m) and Alcazaba (3,371m). You will also get to see the area’s rich collection of valleys, rivers and more.
Originally built as a path connecting various mines in the mountains, the Vereda de la Estrella is beautiful, but also crowded at times. As a result, don’t be surprised if you see plenty of people throughout the day. But, rest assured that despite the collection of people, the views are absolutely worth it.
At the end of the first day, we will be staying in the comfortable Refugio de la Cucaracha. On the next day, after a good night’s rest, we will continue the hike.
Due to the length and elevation gain of this trek, it is important that participants on this trip are in good physical condition.
