Via ferrata Gianni Aglio from Ra Valles, near Cortina d’Ampezzo

Would you like to reach the top of Tofana di Mezzo while enjoying an exciting activity? Then follow me on this half-day program to the via ferrata Gianni Aglio, situated near Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The meeting point of this program will be the Ra Valles cable car. From there, we’ll ascend through the southwest face to the Doss de Tofana and begin the via ferrata. We’ll follow a well-equipped route to the east side of Gianni Aglio and reach Bus de Tofana, a beautiful natural window from where we can contemplate great views of the Dolomites.

Afterwards, we’ll descend to Rifugio Giussani and Rifugio Dibona and then continue the route to the summit of Tofana di Mezzo, at an altitude of 3,244 meters. After 3.30 hours, we’ll descend to the Rifugio Cima Tofana and the cable car station.

Although this via ferrata is not too difficult, keep in mind that there might be some demanding sections, so it’s important to be physically fit.
