Located in the Provence-Alpes-Cote d´Azur region, this area is home to amazing flora and fauna. Thanks to the mountain and Mediterranean climates, and the fact that it is in the midst of the Maritime Alps, there are abundant and varied forests of pine tree and larches between the Verdon and Vaire valleys. Edelweiss and lilies are some popular locals, as well as a number of native mushroom species.
The wildlife includes mountain mammals such as the mouflon and chamois, and the nocturnal activity of foxes isn´t uncommon. The fauna extends all the way to reptiles and the birds who feed on them.
You will see historic sites, like the village of Peyresq. Restored in the 1960s, this medieval hamlet has incredible views of the valley below, with an elevation of over 1,500 meters. You will also have the opportunity to see the Annot Valley and its infamous sandstone, and learning the culture of this unique landscape.
Our first day begins in the morning by slowly preparing the campsite for the evening, setting up bivouacs, the hanging tents and teepees, and storing the food. In the early afternoon, we will begin our trek first by heading to Peyresq, and then hiking up the Courradour (2,151m). From here, you will be able to see the majestic mountains and stunning panoramas of the upper Verdon.
We will return to the bivouacs at about 7:00pm, and begin the preparation of an incredible meal. You will have the opportunity to taste merguez and other sausages, cheese, homemade chocolate cake, and wine. It is a perfect cap to our day, and will prepare us for the next day´s journey.
We will break down our bivy in the morning, and make an easy and pleasant hike to Annot to take in the culture. Once we´ve been properly acquainted with the landscape and the history, we be able to end our amazing trip!
This trip is for anyone with a desire to see this great region. There is a significant amount of walking and a bit of climbing, so you should be in good physical shape.
Book this amazing trip now and see La Colle-Saint-Michel and the glory of a Maritime Alps hike!
I can also guide you on a hike of Siagne Valley! Or we can go to the Malmort Castle in the Roya Valley!

I booked a tour with Fabrice on late May, definitely the highlight of my holiday, we went on a hike around Casterino It was a relaxed hike with great sights of mountain forests and lakes, I got to see some of the local fauna and flora of the park, ibex, marmots, chamois, although not as much as they would be in the area, possibly because of the wolfs (we saw some footprints). Overall it is a great way to see the surroundings. I would definitely recommend Fabrice as a guide for your next hike!
