Central Massif of Picos de Europa 4-day guided trek

We spent a great weekend in the mountains. We had pending the ascent of Urriellu peak, and on the summit, we improvised a wedding ceremony for our friends. The next day the guide made the wonderful choice of taking us to Boru peak. We were very well advised from the beginning, before and during the trip. There are thousands of things to do in Picos de Europa, so I'll be back for sure!

Central Massif of Picos de Europa 4-day guided trek

I’d highly recommend Picos de Europa, and especially Andrés as guide. Beautiful scenery, authentic rural life and serious hiking. Andrés was really great - very helpful and fun. Don’t miss visiting his friend, Ana, in the village - best cabrales cheese and conversation guaranteed!

Central Massif of Picos de Europa 4-day guided trek

There were a few organisational issues before we started, but for the most part they were resloved. The trip it’s self was absolutely amazing! And the guide was very good.

Central Massif of Picos de Europa 4-day guided trek

Andres was the perfect guide, very accommodating and made the trip fun. Some of the trails were challenging but Andres motivated us and kept us safe throughout. We learnt a lot about Picos de Europa and stayed in some fantastic places. Would recommend to book with Andres.

There are many reasons for choosing Hiking in Spain

The vegetal landscape of the region offers a mix of Mediterranean and Atlantic species. As for the fauna, we can find otters, badgers, weasels, foxes and even some specimens of Iberian wolves.

Good to know:

How to get there

Santander Airport is the only one in Cantabria. From there you can fly to different national and international destinations. Other way to get there is by train from Oviedo or Bilbao

It has an oceanic climate since it receives the winds of the Atlantic that crash against the mountains. Due to its constant humidity, the region is characterized by a lush vegetation
