Aspirant Guide
IFMGA
Hi, I'm Andrea! I'm a certified Aspirant Mountain Guide and ski instructor based near Lake Zurich, Switzerland. Originally from Brescia, Italy, I've spent much of my life exploring the mountains, both professionally and for pleasure.
Rock climbing, mountaineering and ski touring are my greatest passions. Over the years, I've climbed and skied extensively throughout the Alps, as well as in Norway, Alaska, Georgia, Scotland, Spain, Greece and Australia.
Some of my favorite mountain areas include the Swiss Alps, particularly the Glarus Alps and Rätikon, the Brenta Dolomites and Adamello mountains in Italy, and the spectacular landscapes around Tromsø and the Lyngen Alps in northern Norway.
Rock climbing is probably what I enjoy most, especially traditional climbing, long alpine routes and technical multi-pitch adventures. I love the combination of movement, problem-solving and commitment that comes with climbing in the mountains.
I'm equally passionate about ski touring, whether it's searching for beautiful powder slopes, exploring remote mountain regions or taking on challenging multi-day traverses. As a ski instructor, I also enjoy helping people improve their technique, build confidence off-piste and develop their mountain skills.
Alongside guiding, I work as a researcher and professor in geophysics and mechanical engineering. My scientific background complements my passion for the outdoors, particularly when it comes to understanding snow, terrain and the natural environment.
What I enjoy most about guiding is sharing my experience and enthusiasm with others. Whether you're planning your first alpine climb, looking to improve your rock climbing skills or dreaming of a memorable ski touring adventure, I enjoy creating experiences that combine adventure, learning and good company.
I particularly like working with small groups, adapting each outing to my guests' abilities and ambitions, and sharing practical mountain skills along the way.
I speak Italian, English, French and German, and I'd be happy to help you plan your next mountain adventure.
See you in the mountains!
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
