I´m Andy Jones, I was born in Rosario, Argentina's capital of the pampas (flatlands). During my early career I worked as a physical educator (a job I’m still very proud to keep), but I eventually moved to Mendoza and live there for the last 27 years.  
I have been feeling a deep attraction to the environment for years, specially for the high altitude, as much as a sport option or an spiritual refuge. I have climbed every sort of Andean mountain since I started climbing in the 80s. I also climbed several high peaks including the highest in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina.

For the last 23 years I’ve been working as a High Altitude Mountain Guide. During the Southern Hemisphere summer my job has been focused on Aconcagua, leading expedition teams to the summit, where I’ve been 48  
times.

I am a relaxed and easy going person, who really loves to introduce people in the high altitude experience, being able to help them enjoy this magic challenge, providing specific logistic, accurate security criteria and dedicated commitment.

First, we will transfer to the city of Copiapó or Bahía Inglesa on the Pacific coast.

Night in hotel.

Airport - Copiapó City / Bahia Inglesa

To begin, we will transfer to the Andrés Valley. Then we will start the trekking and acclimatization. Finally, we will spend the night in a tent. Full board.

Copiapó / Bahia Inglesa - Valle Chico (3,300 m - 9,840 ft)

After transferring to a lagoon, we will go hiking and sightseeing through the Salar de Maricunga. Finally, we will spend the night in a tent or shelter. Full board.

Valle Chico - Laguna Santa Rosa (3,762 m - 12,340 ft)

We will start with an acclimatization ascent to Siete Hermanos. Finally, we will return to the camp.

Laguna Santa Rosa - Siete Hermanos (4780 m / 16043 ft) - Laguna Santa Rosa 

Transfer to the shores of Laguna Verde.

We will spend another day of acclimatization in the Cerro Mulas Muertas, seeking to reach the elevation of 5,200 meters above sea level. Then, we will return to the camp.

First we will transfer by vehicle (22 km) to the advanced base camp (5.250 masl). Then, we will carry equipment to the high field (5,750 meters above sea level). Finally, we will return to base camp.

After the ascent to the high field we will stop to rest and spend the night in a tent or shelter.

We will have a long day of ascent to the Ojos del Salado summit. Then, we will descent to the high field.

At **6,962 meters** above sea level, **Aconcagua** is one of the highest summits in the world. This stunning mountain can be found in the Argentinean province of **Mendoza** and is part of the Andes mountain chain.

On this program, we will take the **360º route** through the northeastern side of the mountain. We’ll explore the **Vacas Valley** and the **Quebrada de los Relinchos** until we reach the base camp. This ascent is not technically difficult. However, it is **physically demanding.** Consequently, it is important to have **background mountaineering experience** and a **good fitness level**.

Ascending the Aconcagua is a must for anyone looking for a true mountaineering challenge!

At **6,962 meters** , the astonishing **Aconcagua** is the highest summit in the American continent. It is located in the Argentinean province of **Mendoza**, the starting point of our trip.

In order to set off on our way to the summit,  we’ll first have to go through the **Horcones Valley** to **Confluencia** camp. Then, we’ll reach **Plaza de Mulas**, which will be our base camp for several days. On this expedition, we’ll take the **normal route** that goes from the southern to the northeastern side of the mountain. This is the most popular route taken by mountaineers to reach Aconcagua’s summit. For a detailed description of the itinerary, please take a look at the bottom of the page.

Take into account that this ascent is not technically difficult, but it is very **demanding physically**. Therefore, it is mandatory to have a **good fitness level** as well as **background mountaineering experience**. Of course, I will do my best to help and assist you at all times.

**I want to invite you to conquer the summit of the San Francisco volcano.** Located in the Atacama Region and on the border between Argentina and Chile, San Francisco is one of the most accessible “six thousanders” of the area. First, I’ll pick you up at the airport, 50km away from Copiapo.

Then, we will check your personal equipment and make all final adjustments (shopping if necessary). Finally, we’ll have our first dinner together and meet the rest of the team.

Arrival to Bahía Inglesa (Copiapó City) – 800 m

After a 210km drive, we’ll sleep at the edge of a beautiful salty lagoon.

We’ll climb Siete Hermanos up to its summit or go as high as we can depending on the team’s condition. This is a fairly ‘low’ 4780m peak near Santa Rosa Lagoon. Included: Full board.

After a nice and generous breakfast we’ll drive 120km to the Green Lagoon.

In the evening, we’ll enjoy the hot springs located around the lagoon and sleep in tents.

We will climb Mulas Muertas which is located just a few kilometers away from our hut. Again, we’ll take it very easy and go as high as we can without compromising our bodies.

The climb might take us between 5 to 7 hours. To get to the top it requires really good confidence and a proper acclimatization.
