If you are looking to do your first 6,000 meter summit attempt, this San Francisco volcano 10-day guided ascent may be just what you are looking for!
I want to invite you to conquer the summit of the San Francisco volcano. Located in the Atacama Region and on the border between Argentina and Chile, San Francisco is one of the most accessible “six thousanders” of the area. Its ideal conditions are perfect for adventurers who are looking to take their mountaineering skills to the next level.
Our starting point will be in the charming city of Bahía Inglesa. This city is famous for having one of the most beautiful beaches in Chile. Then, we will transfer to the Andes Mountains. Once there, we will start our expedition in the Santa Rosa Lagoon (3,700 meters) which has the ideal altitude to begin with the acclimatization process. Additionally, in order to get to the top of San Francisco in the best possible conditions, on the following days we will climb Siete Hermanos (4780 m / 16043 ft) and Mulas Muertas (5,200 m/ 19,390 ft).
Throughout this 10 day trip, we will stay in hotels, mountain huts and tents, all of which are very comfortable. Furthermore, in every location you will be amazed by the remote and wild landscapes this country has to offer. Finally, keep in mind that an excellent physical condition is mandatory.
Are you looking to tackle your first 6,000 meter summit attempt? Then send your request and get ready to conquer the stunning San Francisco volcano!

I´m Andy Jones, I was born in Rosario, Argentina's capital of the pampas (flatlands). During my early career I worked as a physical educator (a job I’m still very proud to keep), but I eventually moved to Mendoza and live there for the last 27 years.
I have been feeling a deep attraction to the environment for years, specially for the high altitude, as much as a sport option or an spiritual refuge. I have climbed every sort of Andean mountain since I started climbing in the 80s. I also climbed several high peaks including the highest in Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina.
For the last 23 years I’ve been working as a High Altitude Mountain Guide. During the Southern Hemisphere summer my job has been focused on Aconcagua, leading expedition teams to the summit, where I’ve been 48
times.
I am a relaxed and easy going person, who really loves to introduce people in the high altitude experience, being able to help them enjoy this magic challenge, providing specific logistic, accurate security criteria and dedicated commitment.
Stay up-to-date on the best adventures.
