Description
This full-day expedition takes you to the summit of one of the most active volcanoes in the southern Chilean Andes. Challenge yourself and join me on this Osorno Volcano 1-day ascent near Puerto Montt!
Just 2 hours away from the famous city of Puerto Montt, the Osorno Volcano summit reaches an altitude of 2,661 meters (8,700 ft) above sea level. Due to its height, this peak offers magical panoramic views of Southern Chile, a picture perfect postcard of Patagonian landscape.
Located in Los Lagos Region, between the Osorno and Llanquihue Province, our mountaineering ascent will take place in the Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. First, we’ll ascend up volcanic rocks and once we reach the glacier, we’ll continue climbing on ice and snow. Finally, we’ll reach the top of this volcano after ascending at an angle of nearly 50º.
I recommend this challenging ascent to advanced climbers only . Furthermore, it’s essential to be in good physical shape.
