Situated in the **Gran Sasso d’Italia massif**, **Corno Grande** is the highest summit in the **Apennines** and the **Italian Peninsula**. It has an altitude of **2,912 meters** and offers an incredible view from its summit.

The meeting point of this trip will be **Piazzale di Campo Imperatore**, located in **L’Aquila** province of the **Abruzzo** region. Once we reach Corno Grande’s summit, we will get to see the incredible views of the **Calderone glacier**, **Corno Piccolo** and the **Adriatic Sea**. 

Take into account that the **difficulty** of this program is **high**. You will cover a distance of **10 kilometers** and experience an elevation gain of around **850 meters** during the hike. 1-day ascent to Corno Grande, Gran Sasso

**Gran Sasso d’Italia** is a massif that belongs to the **Apennines** and lies between Teramo and L’Aquila provinces, inside **Gran Sasso National Park**. This park is one of the largest protected areas in Europe. Come and discover it on this 1-day mountaineering program.

Corno Piccolo lies at **2655 meters** above sea level. Due to its incredible flat limestone walls, this mountain is a very interesting place for mountaineers and climbers. This is where our trip will take place!

On this program, we’ll follow a beautiful path to the summit of Corno Piccolo. We’ll start early in the morning and return in the afternoon. From the top of the mountain, you will be able to contemplate the astonishing panoramic views of the massif.

During the hike, we’ll cover a distance of **12 kilometers** and experience an elevation gain of around **1000 meters**. Therefore, if you want to take part of this trip, you must have **prior mountaineering experience** and a **very good fitness level**.
